I wanted to notify as many as I can that the T-Mobile customer account database with PIN numbers was hacked and users phone numbers are being taken over. This article can be a little scarry for those of us with accounts on our phones and of 2-factor authentication accounts tied to our phones numbers.

There are some notes in the c-net article on how to protect yourself with other carriers as well.

You should log into your T-Mobile account and change the PIN number and setup “Account Takeover Protection”.
